General Guidelines

My life story in a race horse name submissions are accepted in the categories listed below. All race horse names should be a maximum of 18 spaces. Yes, spaces and punctuation marks count as letters. If a photograph, backside story or both are included in your submission, you should hold the copyright or have permission to include the material.

All you have to do is create your submission profile on Submittable. Your profile enables you to enter all of our race horse name opportunities in one place. It also provides you with a one stop place where you can submit your race horse name, a photograph and/or a backside story. Submittable also provides you with a place where you can keep track of the status of all of your submissions. With a single click, you'll be able to learn if your submission has been accepted for publication, selected to be featured online or named a finalist or winner of a contest. Creating a profile is easy and your information is never, ever, sold or made available to a third party. 

Please note that separate entries are required for each category, i.e., if you'd like to be considered for inclusion in our upcoming book, My Bloodline in a Race Horse Name, or in our contest, My Significant Other in a Race Horse Name, separate submissions must be made for each.

Since its inception, Caballo Press of Ann Arbor has been dedicated to giving back a portion of every product it sells to nonprofit organizations associated with the Thoroughbred horse racing industry. With Horsenameographies: My Life in a Race Horse Name, we proudly continue this tradition. To this end, we hope you will assist us in our efforts by taking part in our $5 for 25% Campaign to Benefit Thoroughbred Rescues. If you select this option, 25% of your $5 fee will be donated to a Thoroughbred rescue of your choice.

All submissions are free, always. However, before making your submission in any category, you will be offered an opportunity to join us in our efforts, we hope you decide to take part. Thank you.
